Written materials are often the first impression in a job search. Understanding the difference between a resume and CV is important so that both can be compiled if needed, and the most appropriate document is sent given the role of the hiring manager. Resumes, CVs and cover letters are often thought of as templates. To differentiate oneself, especially in a competitive economy, understanding how to write a targeted and specific letter and resume can be essential to moving forward in the job search process.

Networking: Developing Effective Professional Relationships
Job searches are much more effective when done through contacts. Building a contact base can be daunting, and sustaining those relationships can be challenging. Networking happens in a multitude of situations with a variety of people and forming individual relationships can daunting; professional associations and other meetings involving a “cocktail party” environment often present networking opportunities as well. Gaining knowledge at how to approach these situations and develop meaningful conversations can be the cornerstone to a successful career.
